Product Overview
Albert Hammond Jr. - Francis Trouble (CD) Francis Trouble is the fourth solo album by Albert Hammond Jr released through Red Bull Records. The album is named after Hammond's twin brother Francis who his mother miscarried in 1979 and was described as "a homage to both the death of his twin and his own birth, as well as the complexities of identity that arise because of their intermingling." It was announced alongside the release of the single 'Muted Beatings' which was described by NME as "optimising Hammondâs knack for huge guitar-pop hooks but laden with intricacies aplenty." ÜFrancis Troubleâ is a bright blast of radiant, prismatic indie rock. More surprisingly still, itâs Albertâs most fun record yet, hurtling along on his trademark zipping guitar lines. It has its gloomier moments, like the jagged ÜTea For Twoâ, but for the most part the mood is set to exuberant. Musically, the aforementioned ÜStrangersâ sounds like a surreal stroll through The Beatlesâ Pepperland, while ÜDvsLâ is a howling, high-spirited jaunt. Over the years, Albert has taken on a few personas: the impossibly cool New Yorker with The Strokes, the cinematic indie sweetheart on his 2006 debut ÜYours To Keepâ, for example. As it turns out, larger-than-life, playful Albert is the one that suits him best. TRACKLISTING 1. DVSL 2. Far Away Truths 3. Muted Beatings 4. Set to Attack 5. Tea for Two 6. Stop and Go 7.
