CERES - WE ARE A TEAM (CD) Donât be shocked, but Ceres have made an album about love. Gone is the dark night of the soul that propelled 2016âs ÓDrag It Down On YouÝ, replaced with a desire to spread positivity in the world via their third full-length, ÓWe Are a TeamÝ. With the exception of two songs Ü Stay Awake and Collarbone, 2011 Ü Lanyon wrote the album between February and September 2018, when Ceres gathered in a house in Apollo Bay with producer Tom Bromley (Los Campesinos!) and Grammynominated engineer Andrei Eremin (Chet Faker, Tash Sultana) to record ÓWe Are a TeamÝ. While the album might mark a shift thematically for Ceres, musically ÓWe Are a TeamÝ continues the bandâs ability to create stirring, indie-rock anthems, albeit with a more nuanced songwriting flare that reflects the roadwork and emotional growth of the past three years.
