Pup - This Place Sucks Ass (Neon Orange) (LP) ÓThis Place Sucks AssÝ was a joke we used to make about the world while on tour (remember touring?), but more than ever, it feels true. Like a joke thatâs maybe become just a little too real to be outright funny. Thatâs how we feel about most of the songs on this EP. A bunch of the songs were written and recorded during the Morbid Stuff sessions. Some would call them B-sides, but thatâs never how we felt about them. They are mostly just songs that felt too dark or too manic to make sense with the flow of the album. The only song written and recorded post-COVID is the first song on the EP, ÓRotÝ. While most of our songs are not overtly political, itâs a song that sonically captures our current emotional states. Angry, anxious, bitter and frustrated. And in typical PUP fashion, weâve injected just enough ridiculousness and selfdeprecation to help us cope with the daily onslaught of existential dread. That is, after all, our specialty. We hope you like this EP. Like us, it is at times introspective, and other times completely unhinged. Itâs goofy, honest, sad and angry all at the same time.
