Celebrating the life & recording career of the majestic American dramatic soprano Jessye Norman in a 42-CD + 3-DVD Limited Edition. Unquestionably one of the exceptional vocal performers of recent times, and most decorated sopranos of all time, Ms Norman famously brought the actor Sidney Poitier to tears with her performance of “Amazing Grace” at the 1995 Kennedy Center Honors tribute concert. 42CDs of studio & live recitals, orchestral lieder, Christmas, American songbook favourites, sacred & spiritual songs and personal favourites of Jessye Norman such as the music of Michel Legrand. All recordings made for the Decca, Philips & Deutsche Grammophon labels.

3 DVDs complete the set, including an intimate film made by André Heller, that features filmed interviews and performances of many of her signature arias & songs, Christmas concerts from Notre-Dame & Ely Cathedrals and a live recital of Handel, Schubert & Schumann from the 1987 Hohenems Festival, Austria on DVD for the very first time! Highlights include the classic account of Strauss’s Four Last Songs with Kurt Masur, Isoldes Liebestod with Herbert von Karajan, Schoenberg’s Gurrelieder with Seiji Ozawa and a stellar cast, 2 discs with the legendary composer/conductor and pianist John Williams and the iconic Spirituals in Concert recording with Kathleen Battle.
